Nexus 5 makes yet another appearance ahead of its rumored October launch

A website focusing on Apple products isn’t where you’d expect to see Android devices being leaked, but Google’s upcoming Nexus 5 was kind enough to make an exception.*

A member of MacRumors, under the name weespeed, posted the picture that you see above, claiming it to be of the new Nexus 5. According to the poster, the device is smaller than the LG G2 and feels a lot like the Nexus 7; similarities to Google’s latest 7-inch tablet are easily noticeable on the back of the Nexus 5, hinting at a unified design across Google’s entire line of devices .

The poster also mentions that the display has small bezels, but is just “OK” and not as good as the Galaxy Note 3 (this could come down to the fact that the Note 3 uses an AMOLED display, which has higher contrast*and greater viewing angles than LCD units). The photo has been subsequently taken down, so its authenticity is pretty much a given, especially since it matches what we’ve seen of the Nexus 5 till date.

According to previous leaks, the Nexus 5 will sport a 5-inch 1080p LCD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor (with impressive performance), 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel camera, 2,300mAh battery with support for wireless charging, LTE connectivity, and run on Android 4.4 KiKat out of the box. An official announcement is expected in mid-October.
