Police agencies in Iowa and Florida are looking into using bullet-based GPS to track down reckless drivers during a high-speed chase.
The proposed tracking system is basically compressed air gun that shoots out sticky GPS bullets that will help law enforcements to track down speeders.* People that have a thing for Bond-like movies will know exactly how the tracking system works and what its advantages are.
Instead of chasing after unlawful drivers at dangerous speeds, the officers in pursuit can just launch a tracking device at the run-away vehicle and use their eyes in the sky/space to track down what they’re after.
Cost-wise, the system will cost $5,000 and $500 per bullet.* The benefits, especially in regards saving innocent bystanders during a chase, are immense, but the problem is that these new police equipment will be at the expense of taxpayers.
