AMD pushes launch from October 31 to a week later.
The release of AMD’s non-X version of the R9 290 has been delayed to November 5.
AMD confirmed the delay to VR-Zone in a phone call earlier today, and said it was because of “driver issues.” AMD is sending out a new driver, which it says gives the card a sizable performance boost, and is asking the press to re-do benchmarks with the new driver.
As Nvidia recently revealed the release date for its GTX 780 Ti, and price cuts for the GTX 780 and 770, likely AMD is trying to do some last minute tweaks to its lineup before the holiday season.
AMD hasn’t announced an official price for the card yet, but rumors put it at $449.
