Possible GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3DMark11 score leaked

If a leaked 3DMark11 score proves true, Nvidia’s new GeForce GTX 780 Ti will beat the GeForce Titan and AMD’s Radeon R9 290X.

A user on the XtremeSystems forums has posted what he claims is a 3DMark11 benchmark of the GeForce GTX 780 Ti.

Nvidia’s upcoming GTX card was unveiled last month in Montreal to much fanfare but little specifics. Likely Jen Hsun Huang’s troops were waiting for AMD’s Radeon R9 290X to be released and benchmarked before announcing their card’s specs, in order to do some last minute tweaks.

According to the user’s benchmark, the GTX 780 Ti scores a X5204 on 3DMark11’s extreme test. In comparison, the Radeon R9 290X scored a X4675 during VR-Zone’s benchmark, and the GeForce GTX Titan gets an X5080.

It should be noted that this score is lower than the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified’s score, though EVGA’s card is a customized and overclocked variant while the GTX 780 Ti allegedly benchmarked is probably a reference card.

VideoCardz compiled a chart that makes a pretty convincing argument that the 780 Ti is the GTX Titan refreshed with faster clocks and a much lower price point (which means less margins for Nvidia). According to their compiled data, the 780 Ti will be equipped with 6GB of memory, 2688 CUDA cores, 224 texture units and 48 ROPs. It will ship with a base clock of 950 Mhz, have a boost clock of 1000 MHz, a memory clock of 1750 MHz, and an effective clock of 7008 MHz with 336 GBs of memory bandwidth. It will suck in less power than the R9 290X, having a TDP of 270W.

As previously confirmed, it will have an MSRP of $649.

Nvidia looks to have a pretty competitive card on its hands. What it doesn’t have is the AAA game bundle that AMD has, which makes buying the R9 290X the better deal despite the fact that its the lower specced card.
