BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn gives his impressions on the studio’s new Mass Effect game, revealing that a stable build has been passed around the company and that BioWare is making strides in the upcoming release.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything concrete on BioWare’s new Mass Effect game. The trilogy concluded back in 2012, and earlier this year the studio made it known that they are indeed working on expanding the franchise, but Commander Shepard won’t be making an appearance.
Additionally the game will make use of the expansive sci-fi universe set forth by the franchise, but it won’t be a linear continuation of the trilogy. It’ll be its own separate experience, and it may release sometime in 2014 or 2015.
Fast forward a few months to November and we have BioWare tossing four images of devs working on the new game on N7 Day (Nov. 7). Now as the holidays roll around, Aaryn Flynn–general manager for BioWare’s Montreal and Edmonton branches–continues the swell of anticipation saying that the new Mass Effect game is “ambitious, beautiful and recognizable” in a recent Tweet:
Flynn’s brief impressions sends a ripple through the gaming sphere by revealing that BioWare has a stable build of the new Mass Effect game, which further means that the company is indeed making progress.
This is great news to millions of fans who are eager to return to the stars for another campaign where they make their impact upon the universe–and Flynn’s latter statements hints that we’ll feel right at home with the changes.
We still don’t know what BioWare has in store for us with the new adventure, but we do know that the studio is hard at work crafting the experience despite having other projects in the pipeline like Dragon Age: Inquisition . It’s believed that the new Mass Effect game will be available on current and next-gen consoles sometime next year or in 2015.
