Apple finally closes China Mobile deal, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launch Jan. 17



After months of endless speculation, official announcement for the iPhone deal with China Mobile has finally been made.





Through a press release, Apple has confirmed that it has reached a multi-year agreement with China Mobile to bring its smartphones to the world’s largest mobile carrier, boasting more than 750 million subscribers.*Both new smartphones, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, will be available from China Mobile’s retail stores as well as Apple retail stores in mainland China from January 17, 2014.*The iPhones will be up for pre-registration on December 25, 2013 through China Mobile’s official website as well as its customer service hotline.

China Mobile Chairman Xi Guohua said that the carrier is delighted that iPhones on the carrier support its 4G/TD-LTE and 3G/TD-SCDMA networks, and that they’re aware of the many existing and new China Mobile customers who have been anxiously waiting for the new iPhones to launch. China Mobile’s commercial 4G service was launched just last week, the iPhones would make a great addition to the lineup of devices that support the new service.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the company has “enormous respect” for China Mobile and that they’re excited to be finally working together, being fully aware that China is a very important market for Apple.*Right now, details about pricing of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C on China Mobile have not been revealed, they will be available at a later date.
