Apple CEO Tim Cook teases 'big plans' for 2014 in memo sent to employees

Cook says that “customers are going to love” what Apple has planned for them in 2014.

The lengthy memo was sent to Apple employees yesterday by the CEO himself, who sums up what the company has achieved in 2013 and what it looks forward to achieving in the coming year.*At the very beginning of the memo, Cook praises the employees’ hard work which lead to “tens of millions of people” experiencing Apple products for the first time.*Summing up what Apple achieved in 2013, Cook notes the new Mac Pro that are now assembled in the U.S., the “extraordinarily ambitious project” that is iOS 7 as well as many other products and services like iTunes Radio, OS X Mavericks, new iPads and iPhones.

Cook also says that “We have a lot to look forward to in 2014, including some big plans that we think customers are going to love.” For those who follow Apple product rumors diligently, this certainly comes as a ray of hope. Apple is reportedly working on a number of ambitious projects that will push it into markets it has never competed in. Next year, Apple is rumored to launch its full fledged HDTV set, its iWatch smartwatch as well as an iPhone with a larger display that would effectively push it into the phablet category.

Obviously none of these products are confirmed right now, but if Cook is mentioning “big plans,” then its highly likely that Apple has something interesting up its sleeve. 2014 can’t come sooner.
