A Romanian Lego guru has put together a full-sized hot rod that can transport a grown person on just compressed air.
20-year-old Raul Oaida recently constructed what has to be one of the coolest Lego projects ever.* Many have constructed amazing statues and structures, but few have built Lego contraptions that also have their own Lego engines.
The Lego hot rod, dubbed the Super Awesome Micro Project, started as a single Lego brick back in April 2012, and 20 months later it became a completely drivable machine.* Oaida used more than 500,000 Lego pieces to complete the car.* The hot rod’s exterior is a spectacle to see, but the engine is where all the fun is at.* The engine’s 256 pistons utilize compressed air to drive the Lego car up to around 17 mph.
Crash safety and structural integrity aside, this is the ideal vehicle for a first date if you really want to impress that special someone.
