New Kaveri details leaked

Specifications on AMD’s upcoming A10-7850K and A10-7700K APUs hit the web

Slide decks revealing the specs of AMD’s upcoming A10-7850K and A10-7700K APUs have hit the web.

The slide decks, first posted by ProHardware , show these two chips will be based upon Kaveri silicon using a 28nm process node, Steamroller x86 architecture, Graphics Core Next (GCN) GPU cores, and support for the much-hyped heterogeneous Uniform Memory Access (hUMA). The decks also show that AMD has managed to bring the power draw of these K-class chips down to 95W — a marginal, at best, decrease.

The A10-7850K has its four CPU cores clocked at 4.0GHz and its eight GCN GPU cores clocked at 720 MHz. The A10-7700K is slightly slower, with its four Steamroller cores clocked at 3.8 GHz. Its GPU cores run at the same speed, but it only has six of them instead of eight. Both chips support HSA and offer AMD’s True Audio.

Kaveri will be officially unveiled at CES in January and will be available shortly thereafter.
