Check out this massive Lego GTX 690

Nvidia employee builds mega replica of GTX 690 with 11,396 lego bricks in marketing stunt.

An Nvidia employee and self-described company fanboy has built a six foot replica of a GTX 690 card with 11,396 lego bricks.

Xiosheng Li says he used the Lego Digital Designer software to model the card, and the related parts cost him approximately $1,640. The total build time was three months.

While Xiosheng does say that he did this as part of some spiritual-like quest to be the “world’s coolest Nvidia-fan”, a quest that apparently involved going to the company’s U.S. headquarters to get the signature of Jen-Hsun Huang, he also admits to being the administrator of the company’s Sina Weibo account — which puts him in Nvidia’s public relations department. All photos of the card being built are also taken in an office, which seems odd for just a company fan.

This project is certainly cool, but in the end it’s simply a marketing stunt.
