Another report pegs Galaxy S5, Note 3 Lite and Grand Lite launches for Q1 2014

According to a Korean online publication that’s usually spot-on with this sort of speculation, Samsung is indeed gearing up for a commercial release of the highly anticipated Galaxy S5 by the end of 2014’s first quarter.

The news has been reported before, with ETAs circling January and February, as has been the story of a Galaxy Note 3 Lite and Grand Lite landing in time to catch the cherry blossom. In addition to the three, Samsung is believed to have one or two more handhelds in the pipeline, although they’ll be nothing to write home about.

Knowing Sam’s history, the Galaxy Fame and Young might be the low-enders due for sequels at CES or MWC 2014. Of course, the follow-ups are unlikely to raise the ante in any meaningful way, probably taking things one or two steps further in the software department, overhauling the design Galaxy S4 style and slightly bumping up the processing speed and/or RAM.

Back to the S5, let’s highlight the “next big thing” is most definitely not slated for a CES or MWC appearance, instead presumably breaking cover during a special, glitzy “Unpacked” press event.

The latest word around the street is the 5 or 5.2-incher will rock an all-metal body (for once), pack Snapdragon 800 power in North America and 64-bit Exynos 6 internationally and boast 2K resolution for an outstanding 565 or so ppi pixel density.

Meanwhile, the Note 3* Lite and Grand Lite should in fact debut under the limelight at February’s MWC, with close to high-end specs for the former and mid-range (at best) features in the latter’s case. Sounds like a busy first few months over in Korea, but hey, it’s Samsung we’re talking about here, so let’s not act surprised.
