Dell have officially announced the existence of two more models in the Ultrasharp series of 4K monitors, taking aim at both consumers and business professionals.
Dell officially revealed its horse in the race for 4K monitor supremacy today. It turns out, it was actually three different sized horses. The company has lifted the curtain on its ‘Ultrasharp’ series of monitors, which come in sizes of 24, 28, and 32 inches.
The monitors will support a resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is (duh) 4 times the resolution of Full HD, and also boast an ultrawide viewing angle of 178°/178°. All models also come equipped with what Dell terms PremierColor technology, which means that they have wide color coverage and allow precise calibration for customer color work.
The 32 inch model is already available worldwide, and will set you back a whopping $3,499. The 24 inch variant, which is now available in the United States, is priced at $1,399. Dell is trying to make the 28 inch model more consumer oriented though, and it will reportedly be priced at under $1,000 when it launches some time in early 2014. Let’s face it though, with 4K content limited as it is currently, it doesn’t make too much sense for the average joe to fork out so much money for one of these beauties just yet. However, for the people who just can’t wait to get on the 4K train, the 28 inch model seems like its going to be the most wallet-friendly option in the market.
