The final and stable release of CyanogenMod 10.2.0 is now available for supported devices, as the last and final major build based on Android 4.3.
Fixes and critical updates will continue to be pushed out as necessary, but the main focus of CM developers will now be on building ROMs based on Android 4.4 KitKat, which should come as welcome news for all the custom ROM addicts out there. It will be a while before initial KitKat-based builds arrive, but work will be officially started on those going forward, so at least those owning devices with high development support should soon be able to run Android’s chocolate-flavored version with CM’s customization features in the coming days.
The CM team also announced that CM nightly builds based on Ice Cream Sandwich (CM9) will be halted, so that developers can task the build servers to newer versions of the popular custom ROM. As always, the CM 10.2 build for various devices can be downloaded from the CM website, and flashed either via the standard recovery method or through the CyanogenMod installer application.
