Corsair isn’t new to gaming keyboards, and its latest offering will feature Cherry MX RGB switches that offer LED backlighting.
Corsair is set to debut a new line of gaming keyboards at CES 2014 that feature Cherry’s MX RGB switches.
Cherry says that these keyboards will feature backlight illumination that covers the entire RGB color spectrum, making available a total of 16.7 million RGB colors. This has been achieved by making use of SMD LEDs that have been directly mounted onto the circuit board. This allows for high luminosity and uniform symbol illumination.
The keyboard has been designed for high precision, and features MX RGB*switches with Gold Crosspoint contacts that offer a low bounce time along with N-key rollover. N-key rollover eliminates the ghosting effect that is seen on regular keyboards, in which a few keystrokes are not recognized when pressing a combination of keys at the same time. Cherry MX switches have always been known for their durability, and with the MX RGB switches, Cherry is claiming at least 50 million clicks without any noticeable loss in quality.
The MX RGB switches will be offered in the same four combinations that regular Cherry MX switches have been offered in.
The first keyboards to feature the Cherry MX RGB switches will be showcased at Corsair’s booth at the CES in Las Vegas in January 2014.

- Cherry MX RGB Black switch: Without pressure point, linear actuation – switching function with a defined force of approx. 60 cN without contact feedback.
