Apple lawyers reap over $60 million in patent war spoils

Apple has paid out some $60 million to lawyers that represented the Cupertino-based company in its legal battles against Samsung.

South Korea’s Samsung is on a full-blown war against Apple in the court room. Both companies are vying for market supremacy—not through innovation, but through patent litigations.* Apple has, for the past several years, accused Samsung of blatantly stealing intellectual properties and applying them to Samsung’s vast array of products.

Despite several rulings in favor of Apple thus far, it doesn’t appear that Samsung will back down any time soon.* So far, the San Jose, California federal court has awarded Apple nearly $1 billion at the expense of Samsung.

Apple’s legal counsels are making a killing from the Samsung vs. Apple feud. * Reuters reports that over $60 million have been paid to the main law firm representing Apple, and it is likely that this hefty legal counsel fee is similar to that of Samsung’s.
