The mini version of the Sony Xperia Z1 will officially be called the Xperia Z1S, and will be announced sometime later this year.
Sony launched a mini version of the Xperia Z1 on NTT Docomo called the Xperia Z1f. However, it looks like the international version of the device will be called the Xperia Z1S. Famous mobile leakster @evleaks managed to leak press images of the device, and has mentioned in the tweet that the device will be launched before the end of the year.
The hardware details of the device have not been made public yet, but it is likely that it will retain the same hardware as the Xperia Z1f. If that is the case, then we will see a 4.3-inch 720p screen, 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 20.7MP camera with an Exmor RS sensor and a Bionz image processing unit along with a 2.2MP front shooter and a 2,300 mAh battery. The Xperia Z1S will also likely come with LTE connectivity, along with Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0. If Sony is to launch the device by the end of 2013, we should hear official confirmation in the coming weeks.
