Are you a big fan of board games, but oldies like Scrabble or Monopoly don’t do it for you anymore? Fret not, as there’s a hot new game that I know will spice up your tedious evenings when the internet is down and the only thing interesting on TV is “Duck Dynasty”.
It’s called “Name a Samsung flagship”. Alright, you got me, there’s no such game… yet. But we could make it a thing. And it would be really, really simple. All you’d have to do is list the most high-end Samsung mobile devices the quickest.
Okay, I’ll start. I have the Snapdragon 600 Galaxy S4, Exynos S4, Galaxy S4 Active, S4 Zoom, S4 LTE-A with Snapdragon 800, Snapdragon 600 Galaxy Note 3, Note 3 with Exynos and… Galaxy S4 Active LTE-A with Snapdragon 800. Beat that!
What’s that, there’s no such thing as a Galaxy S4 Active LTE-A? Maybe not yet, but the thing has been making the rumor rounds for a while and, over the weekend, it’s been virtually confirmed by a Wi-Fi certification and an inconspicuous publishing of its manual on Samsung’s Korean website.
The Wi-Fi approval, as you probably imagine, doesn’t expose a whole lot, nor does it reveal any surprises, but the manual basically lists the phone’s full spec sheet. And in a nutshell, the Active LTE-A is exactly what its name suggests: an S4 Active with LTE-Advanced connectivity, plus Snapdragon 800 chip. Or even simpler, it’s an S4 LTE-A with a rugged figure and protection to water and dust.
For now, the 5-incher is only confirmed as headed Korea’s way, through leading carrier SK Telecom, but the exact release date and pricing details are yet to be worked out. Meanwhile, a European commercial launch in time for the holidays is definitely in the cards as well, albeit that’s mere guesswork.
