Available from Oct 10, the Z30 will come with the new BlackBerry 10.2 OS and feature a 5-inch display, the largest ever yet on a BlackBerry device.
Just announced last month, the BlackBerry Z30 will be making its way to local shores on October 10 for a recommended retail price of S$828.
BlackBerry 10.2 will be the highlight of the handset, offering new productivity-boosting features such as the BlackBerry priority hub, which allows you to prioritize important contacts and content, and in-app BBM notifications that allow you to quickly respond to important messages unobtrusively. BlackBerry 10.2 also brings support for Miracast wireless display mirroring.
In terms of physical design, the Z30 marries the best of the Z10 with the Q10, retaining the form factor of the Z10 while going with the premium-looking and durable glass-weave back that was first seen on the Q10. The Z30′s screen, at 5 inches large, is the most noticeable difference that distinguishes it from its Z10. However, while getting an arguable bump to an AMOLED variety, the display’s resolution has been kept at 1280×720 which drops the pixel density to just below 300. Another new addition are the stereo speakers, along with what BlackBerry terms Natural Sound that supposedly improves audio fidelity of voice and video calls.
Other key specifications include a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear shooter, LTE and NFC connectivity options, a micro-SD card memory expansion slot and a beefy (albeit non-removable) 2880mAh battery.
