Scythe introduces the Kotetsu CPU cooler

Scythe’s 120mm tower style Kotetsu CPU cooler offers great value for money at $35.

Scythe is well-known when it comes to CPU coolers, and its latest offering, the Kotetsu, offers features similar to that of costlier CPU coolers. Available for $35, the Kotetsu is a tower-style cooler that features an aluminium fin structure through which four six millimetre copper heatpipes emerge. The fin structure has fins that come in different patterns, which allows in more effective heat dissipation.

To further assist in heat dissipation, there is a GlideStream 120 mm fan that rotates between 400 and 1,400 rpm. Although the fan can push around 79 CFM, it is noticeably quite, as its noise level varies from 5.3 dBa to 28.0 dBa. Scythe mentions that the cooler can be mounted with a minimum of hassle thanks to a new mounting system it calls the Hyper Precision Mounting System.

Featuring dimensions of 130 x 58 x 160 mm (W x H x D), the Kotetsu can be installed on systems with a Mini-ATX and Micro-ATX form-factor. It also fits on a wide variety of sockets, like Intel’s LGA1150, LGA775, LGA1155, LGA1156 and LGA1366, and AMD’s AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1 and FM2.

The Kotetsu CPU cooler is available starting today for $35.
