Black Friday discounts offer one-year of PS Plus for $29.99

Thanks to recent sales, gamers can pick up a full year of PS Plus for as low as $29.99 on Black Friday.

Whether you’re looking to compliment your brand new PlayStation 4 or to just renew your sub, Black Friday has you covered. Retailers like GameStop, Wal-Mart or Target will be offering a year of PS Plus for $29.99, which is 40% off of the original price tag.

PS Plus offers gamers a range of perks including two free games via the Instant Game Collection, exclusive discounts on games up to -75% off, backups of saved data via the cloud network and other beneficial offerings:

  • 12 Hit games for PlayStation®3 and 6 for PS Vita

  • New games added to your collection every month

  • Exclusive discounts of 10% – 75% on the PlayStation®Store

  • One membership works across PS4™, PS3™ and PS Vita systems

If you would rather not wait until Black Friday rolls around, Game Deals Daily is offering a sale on a full year of PS Plus for $39.99.

This particular sale is for digital download codes only, which are delivered to a customer via e-mail upon purchase. Conversely, retailers will most likely be offering savings on the physical PS Plus cards rather than online codes–but we might see some online deals in the mix too.

After taking a gander at the website and reading the description above, your scam radar is probably going off in full force. The deal admittedly sounds a bit shady, as would any deal that involves you sending digital cash to someone across the net.

The site has, however, been reputed by many users on Cheap Ass Gamer , a well-respected and collective forum-based website that scouts the net for great deals on games. Gamers who are looking to stretch a buck or two and pinch a penny can find some nifty deals on CAG, and this one seems legit.

In any case, your best bet would probably be to wait until Black Friday rolls around and go store-to-store if you’re adamant, and it might not be a bad idea to snag an extra sub for next year (keep in mind most stores limit 2 per customer).

Coupled with the $49 sale on select PS4 games from Wal-Mart and Amazon, this is shaping up to be a nice Black Friday–too bad a lot of us picked up our favorites on launch day for full price.
