The recently refreshed lineup of Retina MacBook Pro seems to be facing Wi-Fi connectivity issues, this according to a growing thread on Apple’s official support forums.
It hasn’t been long since Apple released the updated Retina MacBook Pro lineup. Shortly after its launch, customers started complaining about various issues related to the keyboard and the trackpad. They found that the keyboard would cease to work and that the trackpad would freeze randomly, and the only way to fix it was to hard reset the machine. A few weeks after the issues were discovered, Apple released a software update to take care of them.
As per a growing thread on the official Apple Support Forums, customers of both the 13 inch and 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro models are facing inconsistent Wi-Fi connections and even lacklustre speeds. At this point in time, the company hasn’t released an official fix and has not provided a temporary one. There is one fix that’s going around the support forums, simply turn Wi-Fi off and turn it back on again after a minute or so. While this does fix the problem, it may become a nuisance for users who would have to do this multiple times a day.
It is highly likely that this issue is related to a software glitch as well. Apple can easily fix it by rolling out a software update, when it intends to do that though, remains a mystery.
