As engineering samples make their way to OEMs, more information on AMD’s first HSA supporting APU is expected soon.
Everything finally seems to be coming together for the launch of Kaveri.
AMD’s first HSA supporting APU is set to be launched at CES on January 7, with a release to the channel in February. Consumers should be able to get their hands on systems with the chip in them and in stand-alone retail shortly thereafter.
More information on Kaveri is expected at AMD’s APU conference this month in San Jose, as AMD has now decided to pay for the flights of press to the conference. Previously press were told they had to make their own way there, which meant that there would not be a big reveal at the week-long show.
Kaveri uses the FM2 + pin and supports AMD’s Mantle API and Open GL 4.3. It is unclear whether the engineering sample obtained by VR-Zone is of the A8 or A10 variety.
More on Kaveri is expected from AMD’s APU conference, which begins on November 11 in San Jose.
