T-Mobile is the first North American carrier to start selling the LTE-enabled model of Google’s latest tablet.
For a cutting edge tablet like the Nexus 9, it doesn’t exactly make sense not buying the version that supports LTE connectivity. Starting today, consumers in the US no longer have to constrain themselves to the Wi-Fi-only variant of Google’s latest flagship tablet, as T-Mobile has made the LTE model of the Nexus 9 available on its website. T-Mobile is the first carrier (and the only one for now) in the country to start offering the LTE variant, which starts at $24.99 on a two-year contract.
The off-contract price is set at $599.76, the highest for any Nexus tablet (and recent Nexus phones) to come out of Google’s stable. It does come with 32GB of in-built storage though; other specs remain the same as the Wi-Fi variant, including an 8.9-inch*IPS LCD display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 2048×1536 resolution, dual-core 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, stereo BoomSound speakers, a 6,700mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
There’s no telling when the LTE Nexus 9 will make its way to other markets and US carriers, but if one was to hazard a guess, Google is probably looking to make it widely available before Christmas comes around.
