Samsung is issuing recalls for users affected by this issue.
Samsung is aware of the flaw, and mentioned in a statement that users cannot do much to fix the issue other than exchange their Galaxy S5 handset for a new one. “We have learned that a limited number of Galaxy S5 devices may have an issue that causes ‘Camera Failure’ pop-up error message.”
Customers can either contact Samsung at 1-888-987-4357 to get an exchange, or get in touch with their carrier support to get a new handset. Verizon users were the first to notice this flaw, and it was assumed that the issue was limited to Verizon’s version of the handset, but users from other carriers have also started mentioning that they were seeing the camera failure messages. It is unclear as to how many Galaxy S5 handsets are affected by this flaw. For now, all you can do is exchange your existing handset and get a new one.

Barely two weeks into the launch of the Galaxy S5, there seems to be an issue with the camera sensor that cannot be fixed. *Several users are getting a “Warning: Camera Failure” message on their devices, and rebooting or even resetting to factory settings does not seem to resolve the issue.
