Shield 2 features much better hardware when compared to*the first-generation Shield.
If the final version of the Shield 2 features the same hardware, it will be a noticeable upgrade in hardware from the 2 GB RAM and Tegra 4 that was used in the original Shield. The first-generation Shield featured 72 CUDA cores while the Shield 2 will feature 192 CUDA cores thanks to the Tegra K1 chip.
It is feasible that Nvidia retain the same design as well as the controller layout for the Shield 2. The first-generation Shield received a huge update earlier this month that added a lot of functionality to the console. The tweaks included support for Bluetooth enabled mice and keyboard, GameStream technology that allows for low latency game streaming, ability to play touch controlled games with the physical controller and many others.
While Nvidia has not provided any information regarding the unveiling of the Shield 2, it is rumoured that the device will be announced at E3 2014 in June.
But will it sell?
