Korg Gadget is a mobile synthesizer studio for the iPad

Korg Gadget brings a collection of 15 Korg drum and synth machines to the iPad to allow users to create music on the tablet.

Korg’s Gadget mobile synth studio comes with a smattering of virtual drum and synth machines that are based on Korg’s classic hardware instruments. Each virtual instrument is called a Gadget, and users can combine these gadgets to create layered, multi-dimensional sounds.

The UI is divided into two halfs, with one section dedicated for building notes and sequences, and the other for managing instruments. All 15 Gadgets can be simultaneously run, with each Gadget utilizing its own individual track. Korg mentions that it is down to the hardware when it comes to how many tracks users will be able to run simultaneously. Users on the iPad Air can use a 25 track arrangement without any issues. Gadget also comes with a built-in sequencer and mixer along with a scale function for every virtual synth that ensures that notes are synced to the beat at tall times.

Gadget also allows for connectivity with a real-world MIDI keyboard with the Camera Connection Kit. Gadget works with MIDI, Audiobus, AudioCopy, and WIST technologies, and allows users to share their songs directly to SoundCloud, Facebook or Twitter. Currently, Gadget is being offered for $28.99, which is a 25 percent discount on its $38.99 price.
