The dual-core*R9 290X*features 8 GB of video memory and requires four*8 pin PCI-E power connectors.
As the name indicates, the Devil 13 Dual Core R9 290X features two Hawaii XT cores clocked at 1000 MHz, with an overall video memory of 8 GB GDDR5 (5.0 Gbps bandwidth) and a bus interface of 512-bit X2. The card draws power through four 8 pin PCI-E power connectors, which is bound to be almost twice as much as the 300W (under heavy load) utilized by a single R9 290X.
The card also comes with PowerColor’s custom cooling solution, which is in the form of three fans stuck on top of an aluminium fin stack. PowerColor mentions that the fans feature a new double blade system, which it will demo at Computex next week. We’ll be there on hand to check out the card in detail, but considering earlier iterations of the “Devil” branded cards, this will be available in limited numbers and will be priced quite high.
If you’re interested, you’d be advised to hold off on buying a gaming mouse, as the Razer Ouroboros is bundled with the card.

AMD’s reference design R9 290X in itself is an extremely fast card, often edging out higher priced offerings from Nvidia. While most card vendors overclock the GPU, throw in a custom cooling solution and call it a day, PowerColor is taking it to another level by announcing its latest creation, the Devil 13 Dual Core R9 290X. PowerColor teased the card earlier this month, and while we thought that it would be a custom R9 295X2, the card in fact cobbles together two R9 290X GPUs.
