The images paint a good picture of just how big we can expect LG’s upcoming phablet flagship to be.
The LG G3 is refusing to stay under wraps even a day before it is set to be officially announced, with newly leaked images showing off the device next to the HTC One M8.
The G3 was always expected to be a large handset with its*5.5-inch display, and that is further iterated in the images that see it placed next to the too-large-for-its-screen-size*HTC One M8, which might reduce its chances of being picked up by consumers looking for a new smartphone. The images also confirm that at least one of the variants of the G3 will sport a brushed metal design on the back, giving it a premium look that we haven’t seen on existing Android phones from LG.
Also visible in the photos is the laser autofocus sensor that has been rumored to be present on the phone, along with LG’s infamous rear volume and power buttons setup. The Quad HD (2650×1440) display isn’t shown, but*the fact that it’s there is one that the rumors and leaks have continuously pointed out, and LG will likely be making it a huge part of the G3′s announcement event tomorrow.
Other specs of the phone are expected to include a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, 3,000mAh removable battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest iteration of LG’s Optimus UI. The G3 is hands down the most anticipated device*in LG’s history of making smartphones, though it remains to be seen if it can hold its ground in face of competition from devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime and HTC One M8 Prime, which are set to launch in the second half of 2014.
