Samsung’s new Chromebook may very well carry the Galaxy Note 3′s design language forward into notebooks.
It appears that the faux leather back that Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Note 3 last year will find its way on a much bigger device this year, the company’s upcoming notebook, Samsung Chromebook 2.
@evleaks, who doesn’t need any introduction as his impeccable track record speaks for itself, has leaked what appears to be a press shot of the Samsung Chromebook 2. It is quite evident from the image that the lid is adorned with a material we first saw on the Galaxy Note 3. Its faux leather, with stitches running along the sides to give it a much more premium feel. The material itself offers a soft touch and feels comfortable in the hands.
Cosmetic changes aside, rumors about Samsung Chromebook 2 will have you believe that its going to be available in two models, 11.6 inches and 13.3 inches. It is expected that the 11.6 inch Chromebook is going to be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. A 16GB SSD is supposedly onboard as well. Specifications from the 13.3 inch haven’t been rumored, though it is expected to be powered by an Intel processor.
Pricing for the Samsung Chromebook 2 is believed to start from $299. As yet the company hasn’t said when it is going to unveil its new Chromebooks, so its not immediately clear when this faux leather touting notebook is going to hit the market.
