Nokia event scheduled for 2nd April, Windows Phone 8.1-powered phones expected

Rumors suggest that we will see the announcement of the Lumia 930, and Lumia 630 at the event.

After the hotly-discussed launch of Android-powered Nokia X series of phones, Nokia is now gearing up for a new batch of Windows Phone devices, coinciding with the launch of Windows Phone 8.1 – a humbly-named, huge, much-needed update to Microsoft’s mobile OS.

Based on The Verge‘s sources, Nokia is currently working on two WP 8.1 devices. Firstly, Lumia 930, the international version of the ‘Lumia Icon‘ – expect the same best-in-class 5″ Full HD display, and 20 megapixel camera. Secondly, the Lumia 630 – a low-end device targeted at budget-conscious customers. It will come with a 4.5″ display with on-screen buttons, and dual-SIM support.

At least one of the two aforementioned devices will be announced on 2nd April. We will inform our readers about the event’s proceedings when it happens, so stay tuned.
