The teaser carries the tagline “Green with envy” and follows a theme similar to the teasers seen for the Nokia X earlier this year.
Nokia has posted a teaser for a June 24th event, showing a flashy green device along with the tagline “Green with envy”, hinting at the imminent arrival of the Nokia X2.
The teaser doesn’t reveal anything, but its focus on*green is similar to what we saw with Nokia’s teasers for the Nokia X. That and the fact that the Nokia X2 was recently rumored to be launching in the last week of June are a surefire sign that it is the X2 that will be the star of the June 24th event, and the teaser also confirms that like other Nokia devices, the X2 will be available in various colors.
In terms of hardware, the Nokia X2 is expected to sport a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×480) display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, and a humble 4GB of internal storage. That isn’t exactly the kind of specs that will make anyone green with envy, but hopefully Nokia will be putting more focus on improving the software experience over what it offered on its original attempt at an Android phone. The X2 is also said to address the lack of anything but a back button on the Nokia X by adding a home key, in a bid to reduce the confusion users faced when operating the device.
Any chances of success of the X2, however, depend solely*on well the phone is priced*- the X matched an inadequate hardware and software package with a not-so-digestible price tag, and the same scenario this time around*could prove disastrous for the second-generation Nokia X handset.
