Manufacturers list Z97 motherboards ahead of official unveil

Who needs an NDA? Z97 motherboards from Asus, MSI and Gigabyte are already available from e-commerce stores in several countries.

It looks like manufacturer aren’t waiting for Intel to officially launch the Z97 platform, as they have started selling Z97 motherboards on several retail sites. Asus, MSI and Gigabyte all have Z97 motherboards listed on e-commerce sites like Newegg in the US. Newegg is currently listing the following models:

In the UK, Aria had listed Gigabyte Z97 motherboards, but it looks like the listing has since been taken down. Here’s a cached screenshot:

*German retailer Geizhals has a slew of Gigabyte as well as Asus Z97 motherboards on offer:

A Taiwanese outlet has also started listing several Gigabyte and Asus boards that include the following:

  • ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark1 for $300 (NTD $8990)

  • ASUS Maximus VII Ranger for $231 (NTD $6990)

  • GIGABYTE Z97X-UD5H for $198 (NTD $5990)

  • GIGABYTE Z97X-UD3H for $165 (NTD $4990)

  • GIGABYTE G1.Sniper Z97 for $160 (NTD $4790)

Asus has already listed its entire range of Z97 motherboards on its official site. The models are similar to what we’ve seen in the leaked images that were ousted last week, but there do seem to be a few new additions, like the Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2. There is no indication as to when Intel will announce the Z97 platform, but with most manufacturers already listing their offerings, it should not be too long now.
