See how the next generation iPhone might stack up against Samsung’s current flagship.
As we head into the summer the frequency of iPhone 6 leaks starts increasing. Apple is believed to be ramping up production in these months to ensure that it has ample stock on hand to go through with a launch this fall. New iPhones are traditionally released in September.
The high quality iPhone 6 mockup seen in these pictures has been created based on drawings and renderings of Apple’s next flagship that were previously leaked. The idea is to depict how Apple’s first iPhone with a truly “large” display will compare against the Galaxy S5 and Samsung’s lineup in general which has led the large-display charge for a couple of years now.
While dimensions are not provided with the mockup it appears to have a 4.7-inch display, a figure that has been rumored countless times. Apple is actually believed to release two iPhones this year, one with a 4.7-inch display and the other with a 5.5-inch display. It is unclear if both models will be released together.*Given the Galaxy S5′s 5.1-inch display this iPhone 6 mockup doesn’t nearly look quite as big but its definitely a step up from the existing 4-inch display on the iPhone 5S.
It can not be determined just how thick the mockup is but it appears to be thinner than the Galaxy S5, which comes in at 8.1mm. Rumor has it that the iPhone 6 is going to be thinner and lighter than its predecessors. iPhone 5S is 7.6mm thick so if rumors are true the next iPhone might fall between 6.5mm-7mm.*The source that published pictures of this mockup claims that it is the “final” version which case manufacturers are using to create their products for Apple’s next smartphone.
Design will undoubtedly one of the biggest changes that Apple makes in its next iPhone.*It certainly is about time given that the iPhone’s design has largely remained the same over the last few years.*There have also been rumors of Apple possibly increasing the price of its next flagship but that won’t be known for sure until the company makes it official. No word as yet on when that is going to happen.
