Telltale Games showcases new trailer for 'The Walking Dead: Season Two'

Telltale Games has released a brand new trailer for the first episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two, showcasing Clementine’s struggle to survive both the living and the dead.

We’ve known for quite some time that Telltale Games has been crafting a sequel to their universally acclaimed episodic series based on The Walking Dead graphic novels, and after almost a year of waiting we are treated with a new trailer that shows off Season Two in action.

The trailer gives a brief glimpse of Clementine’s harrowing journey through Episode One: All That Remains , showing a variety of new faces along the way.

In a ruined world fraught with danger, Clementine continues onward in a desperate gambit to survive the zombie apocalypse. Telltale has confirmed a bit ago that the young heroine will be a playable character in Season Two, and the trailer clearly shows gameplay footage to support this.

“The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the undead apocalypse. Left to fend for herself, she has been forced to learn how to survive in a world gone mad.*

“Many months have passed since the events seen in Season One of The Walking Dead, and Clementine is searching for safety. But what can an ordinary child do to stay alive when the living can be just as bad – and sometimes worse – than the dead?

“As Clementine, you will be tested by situations and dilemmas that will test your morals and your instinct for survival. Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012’s Game of the Year.” –Official game description

The footage also depicts a maelstrom of drama that’s remained a staple of the episodic series, suggesting a variety of scenarios and interpersonal relationships–along with the horror, dread and death that’s always been a consequence of any Walking Dead story.

The second season will be made up of five episodes that will be release digitally with an eventual conclusion in 2014, and Telltale is offering a Season Pass that grants access to each episode when they are released.

Right now players can pre-purchase the Season Pass now on Steam or on the Telltale Online Store and get a 10% discount, knocking the price down to $22.49 for all five episodes.

The Walking Dead: Season Two is slated to release across multiple platforms including Xbox 360, PS3, PC/Mac and iOS. The first episode, All That Remains, is scheduled for a launch on Dec. 17 via Steam and Dec. 18 on Xbox 360 for $4.99.

PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita versions are expected as well.
