Google Nexus 9 goes up for sale in limited markets

Only the Wi-Fi model is being sold in the initial run.

November 3 was the date Google said its latest Nexus tablet would be available on, and the search giant is keeping the promised schedule as the Nexus 9 is now available from the Google Play Store. The black and white color versions of the Wi-Fi model can be purchased in 16GB and 32GB varieties, for a price of*$399 and $479, respectively. A Tan color model will also be made available in the coming weeks, and so will the cellular/LTE-enabled variants, though there’s no concrete time frame for when that will happen.

The HTC-made Nexus 9 is the most powerful Nexus tablet yet, featuring a dual-core Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 64-bit support that should leave all other mobile chips behind when it comes to raw performance. The tablet also comes with a 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 2048×1536 resolution, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, stereo BoomSound speakers, and a 6,700 mAh battery. Of course, the fact that it is the first device to come with Android 5.0 Lollipop is the Nexus 9’s highlight feature, though you probably already knew that.
