A simple tweak allows you to use Apple Pay outside the U.S.
Apple Pay has gone live in the U.S. and already millions of people have made purchases using this new service.*This*payments service is currently available only in the U.S. but Apple does have plans of expanding it to other countries around the world. So far the company has not revealed when Apple Pay will be expanded overseas, but as it turns out, there is a tweak that you can use in order to pay for things through Apple Pay in*countries other than the U.S.
Do keep in mind though that this doesn’t mean you can use a non-U.S. card with Apple Pay right now. The service currently only accepts cards issued by banks in the United States. However if you do possess a U.S. bank-issued card and happen to be traveling in a country where NFC payment method is widespread, you can use Apple Pay.
The tweak was tested by Sydney based blogger Beau Giles, who breaks down this tweak into two simple points. First ensure that the location of your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus is set to the U.S. and second that you have a U.S. bank-issued credit card tied to Apple Pay. Then simply head up to a NFC payment terminal and pay for your purchases.
So until Apple officially expands this service you can use this tweak, but remember, using your U.S. bank-issued credit card in another country is likely going to incur additional fees and charges, so this may end up costing you more than you might like.
