The benchmark reveals detailed*hardware info of the lowest-end member of Samsung’s upcoming A series of smartphones.
The Galaxy Alpha took the crown of being the first Android phone from Samsung to feature a metallic body, and word has it that the company will be launching three more phones in the same series as the Galaxy Alpha, each with a hint of metal in their construction. The SM-300 will be the cheapest option in the new lineup, and the appearance of the device’s benchmark has revealed more info on its hardware.
According to the benchmark, the SM-A300 will feature a 4.8-inch 960×540 display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, a 7-megapixel rear camera (likely an 8MP unit, which are often wrongly listed as 7MP on these benchmarks), and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. There will also be 8GB of internal storage, and the phone will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Those specs fall right in line with reports that the A series will see Samsung offering better hardware at lower prices along with higher-resolution cameras. As always, things can always change in the days leading up to whenever the Korean manufacturer makes the SM-A300 official, which is expected to happen sometime this month.
