Yet another source points to an imminent ultra-high-end variant of Samsung’s Galaxy S5, possibly dubbed S5 Prime internationally but simply titled Galaxy S5 LTE-A in Hong Kong.
It’s time to cut the charade, Samsung, and admit you’ve been working on a “premium” Galaxy S5 for a while now. The luxurious Android smartphone was tipped by about two dozen leaksters prior to the standard model’s announcement and at least half as many in the past couple of weeks, so it’s no use trying to keep it on the hush-hush any longer.
Sure, most rumors were in fact suppositions or fabrications without the smallest shred of evidence corroborating them. But a few are rock-solid. The latest report is somewhere in between, as a Hong Kong pricing database lists the S5 LTE-A, aka SM-G906S, as coming soon.
Though the photo is clearly a placeholder and shows a regular, non-Prime GS5, and the info and prices are said to be “for reference” only, something tells us this website checked the accuracy of the material posted before making it public.
As such, you could take this as further confirmation the SM-G906S, and all its region-specific flavors, will indeed haul Android into a new era thanks to mind-blowing specs like a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) display, quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3 GB RAM, 16 MP rear-facing camera and Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
Unfortunately, there’s no referral to build materials, so the million-dollar question remains this: will Samsung play it safe with chintzy plastic again, or take that aluminum gamble once and for all and settle the “is metal better” debate?

Why do I get the feeling the Galaxy makers may be expecting the end of the month to reveal more on the Galaxy S5 Prime and spoil LG’s G3 unveil party? Unless HTC punks them both with a One M8 Prime.
