Images and specs of Motorola’s upcoming budget-friendly smartphone have leaked through various sources ahead of its official announcement.
Motorola is all set to launch the Moto E at concurrent events in the UK and India*on May 13, but images of the device have already managed to make their way online.
A Brazilian retailer has prematurely listed the Moto E along with pictures that corroborate an image leaked by the folks over at Android Police. Overall, the Moto E resembles the Moto G, but is noticeably different in some aspects*- the Moto E has a smaller screen and lacks a front-facing camera, downgrades that were no doubt*necessary for the sub-$100 price Motorola is said to be aiming for.
Like the Moto G, the Moto E will also have interchangeable back shells in a variety of colors*including*white, turquoise and yellow. As for the specs, the Moto E is said to have a 4.3-inch screen of unknown resolution (probably 560×940), a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, a 1,980 mAh battery that is said to offer all-day battery life, and Android 4.4 KitKat with “guaranteed updates.”
Rumors suggest the Moto E will also sport features such as*Corning Gorilla Glass, a spill-resistant coating, and dual SIM support, which would go a long way in making the handset stand out among the competition. It is expected to go on sale the same day as the official unveiling, though whether Motorola will really offer it at a price of $100 or lower remains to be seen.*
