Additional LG G3 photos make their way online, show off black and white versions

A bunch of extra images starring the yet to be released LG G3 high-end smartphone have been unearthed, confirming everything we already knew about the gadget’s aesthetics.

As hard as LG might be trying to contain spills of information regarding their highly anticipated G2 follow-up, the handheld is becoming less of an enigma by the day. And there’s still a long way to go until May 27, when the G3 is destined to go official.

Photographed from every angle out in the wild just ahead of the week-end, the slim-bezeled slab of silicon is now front and center in a slate of apparent press renders. Only they can’t be pressers, as the G3 seems to be hidden inside a comfy protective case.

Of course, the shell can’t possibly conceal all that’s visually astounding about one of the first Quad HD display-toting phones from household names of the industry, so the uber-thin screen borders are staring us in the face… again.

So are the snazzier, slightly redesigned rear physical buttons, flanked by the main camera’s LED flash and the biggest remaining G3 question mark. What on Earth is the sensor that keeps popping up in these informal pics? Is it a bland old IR blaster? A crowd-pleasing fingerprint scanner? A Samsung-copying heart rate monitor? Your guess is as good as ours.

Then there’s an inconspicuous top posterior hole, which before you even think it, likely doesn’t suggest stylus support is in the cards. Instead, we believe it’s where an Asian-exclusive TV antenna will extend and retract through. Drat!

Color palette-wise, the LG G3 is to almost certainly roll out in ivory white and ebony black at first, with more to follow in due time. Probably gold, possibly red too.

Finally, in terms of hardware and software, the fat lady is yet to sing, so it’s not over until it’s over, although a few things are already set in stone:

  • 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution 5.5-inch display

  • 2 and 3 GB RAM options

  • 16/32 GB built-in storage

  • 13 MP rear-facing camera with OIS+

  • 2 MP front snapper

  • MicroSD support

  • 3,000 mAh battery

  • 1 W speaker

  • Android 4.4 KitKat
