Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite clears the FCC, 10.5-inch AMOLED tab also due for CES intro

An FCC listing and fresh report out of Korea seem to further clear the air on two of four unannounced Samsung tablets expected to land in Q1 2014: the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite and an unnamed 10.5-inch Super AMOLED unit.

Not that there was a lot left to the imagination in regards to the GTab 3 Lite. The 7-incher should break cover shy of three weeks from now, during the Las Vegas CES 2014 expo. Pricing rumors circle the $100 figure, while hardware speculation calls for similar specs to the original Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.

One of the biggest mysteries still intact involves the little guy’s connectivity options, as no insider has gathered enough intel so far to predict whether there will be a cellular-enabled model in addition to the Wi-Fi only version or not.

And the FCC confirmation doesn’t help one bit, as the Tab 3 Lite variant spotted at the federal agency bears the SM-T110 model number and no trace of 3G or 4G LTE. Also, the rear-facing camera features no Flash, which isn’t surprising in the least. After all, you should be content with any kind of snapper, even a VGA, since you’re only going to cough up a Benjamin for the bad boy.

As for the much more cryptic and far more exciting Super AMOLED display-toting Galaxy Tab, well, it stays cryptic. Odds are it’s to be announced at CES next month too in a 10.5-inch flavor, with a compact 8-incher probably landing a little later. Maybe at MWC? Maybe.

What about some actual insight on specs and features? Nothing of sorts has come to light yet, save for the AMOLED and form factor tidbits, so we’ll just have to wait and see. By the by, apparently Samsung remembers very well the Galaxy Tab 7.7 flop, hence it’s working on a much more aggressive marketing campaign for the second ever AMOLED slate.

Sounds like a gamble? Hey, you gotta spend money to make money, no?
