‘I cannot take this anymore,’ creator says of the games success.
The titular bird of the highly addictive game Flappy Bird will have its last flight Sunday night, as its creator has promised to take the game down after a weekend flap on Twitter.
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”><p>I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore.</p>— Dong Nguyen (@dongatory) <a href=”http://ift.tt/1aJqUoc 8, 2014</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”><p>I can call 'Flappy Bird' is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.</p>— Dong Nguyen (@dongatory) <a href=”http://ift.tt/1fOrWwT 8, 2014</a></blockquote>

Nguyen’s outburst and announcement of the game’s demise is certainly unexpected, as reportedly the addicting game is earning its creator $50,000 a day in ad revenue.
But this success also comes with its share of criticisms. A highly re-tweeted article from web marketing firm Blue Cloud Solutions alleged, though with sparse helpings of evidence, Nguyen was using an army of bots to game Apple’s app store rating. When asked if he was using bots, Nguyen dodged the question neither confirming nor denying the allegations:
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”><p><a href=”http://ift.tt/1fOrWwX; It doesn't matter. Don't you think? If I did fake it, should Apple let it live for months?</p>— Dong Nguyen (@dongatory) <a href=”http://ift.tt/1aJqUom 4, 2014</a></blockquote>

Flappy Birds was first uploaded in May by Nguyen’s studio, dotGears, *but only recently rocketed to popularity due to a profile on Buzzfeed.
Nguyen’s last tweet on Twitter seemed to state that he wasn’t getting out of the games business altogether.
