Take a glimpse of the future with Toshiba's tech museum

The Toshiba Science Museum will be opening very soon, taking visitors forward into the future with their new and modern exhibits.

Technically a reopening, this actually will be the second time that their tech museum will be opened, after it was temporarily closed down last September 2013.

Taking the huge strides in consumer tech development over the past few years in mind, the primary theme of the upcoming museum would be (updated) modern and futuristic technologies of our current era. Toshiba plans to give visitors a look into our current technology, as well as presenting possible tech concepts that might become a practical reality in the near future.

The newly rebuilt museum would have three primary sections. The first is the Future Zone, where future tech ideas are showcased. The second is the Science Zone, which is much like a Toshiba-themed hands-on science museum. Of course, history would always be important for a museum, and most of the older exhibits will be moved to the History Zone.

The first Toshiba Science Museum opened its doors more than half a century ago, in 1961. It presented what is considered at the time as futuristic, and just like today, it also gave visitors a glimpse of what the future of technology might be. Decades later, it soon became a historical museum of sorts, showcasing a variety of exhibits related to the development of Toshiba’s tech products.

The Toshiba Science Museum (re)opens by the end of this month, on January 31. Details on opening and closing schedules, as well as directions can be found at the museum’s official page. Oh, and admission is totally free.
