A couple of live photos of the Oppo R1 have leaked online, showing off the Chinese manufacturer’s upcoming mid-range handset from every possible angle.
Oppo teased the R1 in early December as a phone that would reinvent low-light photography, and now an unknown source has managed to get his hands on a prototype and posted a slew of photos showing it from every corner. The device is covered by a protective casing, but the photos reveal a construction consisting of a metal frame, metallic volume and power rockers, and a glass back – like every other Oppo handset, the R1 looks like quite the premium smartphone, even though its specs might not let it be anything more than a mid-ranger.
Speaking of specs, the R1 is expected to sport an 8-megapixel camera, a 5-inch display of 720p resolution, 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 MediaTek MT6582 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and at least Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Details on pricing and availability are currently unknown, though a launch should take place before the Find 7, the successor to the Oppo Find 5 that’s expected to come with multiple industry firsts, like a 2K display and Snapdragon 805 processor.
