MSI announces the GTX 780Ti Gaming 3G video card

MSI has taken the reference GTX780 Ti design and tweaked it even further. The result is the GTX 780Ti Gaming 3G.

MSI’s latest GTX 780Ti GAMING 3G video card takes an already fast card and further tweaks it.

The card is based on Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 780Ti GPU, and features MSI’s Twin Frozr IV design. The design has an aluminum fin grid that is attached to the surface of the customized video card, which draws heat away from the card. Dual-fans attached to the front of the card further assist in drawing heat away from the card.

The GTX 780Ti Gaming 3G has 2880 Cuda Cores, and boasts a core clock of 1,020 MHz with a boost clock of 1,085 MHz. The card has 3 GB GDDR5 video memory at a 384-bit interface, and comes with dual-link DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI connectors.

MSI has factory overclocked the card, which means that it will be faster than the reference card out of the box. Included with the card is the Gaming App utility that allows you to get the best out of the card by just pushing a button. In OC Mode, performance is given a priority whereas Gaming Mode offers a balance between stability and performance. Silent Mode powers down the card so that it runs quieter.

Should you wish to tweak the settings of the card even further, you can do so easily by using MSI’s Afterburner tuning utility. Afterburner gives you access to all the card’s hardware settings and is claimed to be one of the best manufacturer overclocking solutions. It also features a benchmarking tool called Kombustor that allows you to see how fast your card is in relation to others.

The GTX 780Ti Gaming 3G is eligible for Nvidia’s holiday bundle, which means that you will get a bevy of games free with the card that include Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. MSI hasn’t announced how much the card costs, but it should be available soon.

Check back next week for VR-Zone’s benchmarks of the card.
