Dell Chromebook 11 launching in January 2014 for $300

Dell’s first Chromebook will be used primarily in the classroom, and will cost $300.



Dell has officially announced its first Chromebook, the Chromebook 11.

Dell has mentioned that the machine will primarily be used in the classroom, and that it has been designed to facilitate next-generation learning solutions. As such, Dell is throwing in Wyse PocketCloud synchronization with the Chromebook 11, which is a cloud-based sharing solution. In addition to Dell’s PocketCloud, the Chromebook 11 will come with Google’s 100 GB Drive storage for two years.

Coming over to the hardware details, the Chromebook 11 features a 11.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768, Intel’s fourth generation Celeron 2955U processor, 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB SSD, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a 720p webcam at the front and a battery that is claimed to provide ten hours of battery life. There is one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port and an HDMI out.

The Chromebook 11 will cost $300 and will be available in January 2014. Dell has also mentioned that a variant of the same with 2 GB RAM will be launched sometime in the first quarter of 2014 for under $300.
