The LG G Flex might be a mere 24 hours away from breaking cover in the first couple of Asian markets, but at least one country on the continent will apparently be left waiting until February 2014.
One very important country, namely India, where the “curvalicious” 6-incher is to also be quite pricey. Make that crazy expensive, as according to regional company officials, the G Flex will cost between $978 and $1,060 (Rs. 60,000 – 65,000).
Is it worth it? It depends on where you stand in the whole curved display controversy. Many people consider it a gimmick, and so they’d probably not buy the thing even at, say, $800 or so. Others like to think of it as true innovation, or at least the first step towards something majestic, hence they may want to give early support to the still fledgling flexible initiative.
Either way, you can’t argue against the G Flex being one of the best all-around Android handhelds in the world, as it’s a measly 8.7 mm thick, packs Snapdragon 800 heat, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB built-in storage, a 13 MP rear-facing camera and massive 3,500 mAh battery.
On top of it all, you get a so-called self-healing back panel coating, which essentially shields the bad boy against scratches and bruises. Bottom line, it might not be worth a gee, but it’s close enough.
The exact Indian ETA and pricing are for now kept under wraps, however stay tuned on our website for precise information once February closes in. Coincidentally, it’s around the same time we expect to hear more on G Flex’s US rollout, with select European markets slated to score it a little earlier.
