Google Search iOS app update brings 'OK Google' handsfree voice search

The Google Search iOS app has received a major update, significant improvements have been made to Google Now, addition of handsfree voice search being one of them.

Google Now is baked into the Google Search iOS app, however it hasn’t been close to its Android counterpart with regards to feature parity. The latest update brings some semblance of feature party between the two, though only for a limited time, because Google is going update the app on Android very soon. Regardless of that, iOS users can now enjoy a plethora of new improvements that only enhance the user experience of Google Search on iOS.

One of the biggest additions to the app is handsfree voice search, users can launch the Google Search app and simply make the app do their bidding by saying “OK Google,” it will work like it does on Android.*Notifications are supported as well, so the app will notify users when its time for an upcoming event, flight and public transit. Reminders can also be set within the app, users simply need to tell Google Now to remind them about a particular task.*The update also brings new cards for movies, concerts, tickets and event as well as boarding passes for flights and reservation confirmations for car rentals. The app will also tell users when the last train home for the night leaves.

Google Search iOS update brings a redesigned homepage as well, which is now much more simpler than before. The app is available now for download free from the App Store.
