Gigabyte rolls out Celeron J1800 motherboard

Intel’s Celeron J1800*uses the same Atom chip as the Asus Transformer Book T100, but with a higher TDP.

Gigabyte has joined the list of companies offering Bay Trail D compatible motherboards with its J1800N-D2H ITX motherboard.

Intel’s Celeron J1800, which belongs to the Bay Trail D family and*uses the Celeron brand name as well as*the Silvermont architecture, is a low-powered SoC designed for implementations such as a Home Theater PC setup.

Gigabyte’s J1800N-D2H board includes a J1800 processor clocked at 2.41GHz, with the option to speed it up to 2.53 Ghz via boost. The motherboard itself comes with two DDR3L SO-DIMM RAM slots, a PCI Express x1 slot, mini PCI Express x1 slot, a SATA 3Gbps port (not the 6.0Gbps version) and a single USB 3.0 port.

Because of limitations on SO-DIMM memory, the board only supports up to 8GB of RAM.

Pricing for the board has yet to be revealed.
