With the rumored unveiling date of the next Nexus and Android 4.4 KitKat coming closer, we are seeing more and more details surface about them.*
We saw pictures of a Nexus 4 running on Android 4.4 last week, and now a screenshot and bug report allegedly taken on a Nexus 5 have leaked out. The latter confirms that the device will have a 1080p (1920×1080) display with a pixel density of 443 ppi, pegging the screen size to be around 5-inches. The Nexus 5 is mentioned by name, though Android 4.4 is still listed as Key Lime Pie, which falls in line with what Google said about hiding the actual name from even its own employees.
Meanwhile, the screenshot confirms that Google will be moving to a grey/white color scheme for the status bar icons in Android 4.4. However, contrary to the Nexus 4 screenshots, the status bar is completely black in the latest screenshot, which points to the possibility of the previous leak being a fake. It would have been great if Google has worked on improved the design of those icons, but it looks like we’ll just need to be content with a color change for now.
